The Year 5 & 6 Partnership Rounders was organised as training day for the sole entrants from All Saints Primary. The pupils were treated to relay drills, fun games and skill related warm-ups in the morning. Subsequently, the Year 10 GCSE PE students from Nonsuch demonstrated their leadership skills by taking small groups of pupils through the techniques of underarm throwing, bowling, overarm throwing and batting. The Leaders adapted the activities very sensitively to cater for all pupils and even used soft balls to provide success for all the participants.
In the afternoon, pupils were split into teams and were given the opportunity to play matches against their classmates. Staff commented on how useful it was to have assistance with the umpiring as a means of developing their knowledge of rules.
All Saints will now go through to represent Sutton in the South London regional finals.
